Simply Grateful

I have been so blessed to have had such a great family and friends in my life. I am also grateful that in my life I have had a deep connection with nature and have used my imagination to make my own fun when I would play outside as a child. It saddens me to read about the children today and how they are lacking a connection with nature because of video games and computer games. This does not allow them to imagine for themselves. I have had a great life, I live near the beach and have spent a lot of my time there, building sand castles, playing in the water and simply just relaxing and enjoying my sense of place there. I am grateful for the wonderful planet that we live on. This class has helped me enjoy the beauty that this world has to offer. I am grateful for all the experiences I have had on the field trips and as well the past experiences I have had throughout nature as I was growing up. I play soccer so I spend a great deal of time outside, sometimes I forget that I am so lucky to be able to be outside and enjoy the environment around me.
